I requested that Digital Playground send screeners of the new Virtual Sex releases for review. Being intimately familiar with the Virtual Sex with Asia Carrera CDROM (an
early release from the series), I stupidly assumed that the new Virtual Sex releases were the same format. Imagine my disappointment at opening the box and discovering
that they were DVDs... I was heartbroken! Luckily, a month later I received a DVD player as a gift and here I am... reviewing these three installments of the Virtual Sex series in all their glory.

You have to give it to Digital Playground, or whomever first cooked this idea up (actually, I think it was first seen in the "Ray" scene in the great non-porn feature Amazon
Women on the Moon). The idea here is that it looks like you are the guy attached to the cock fucking the girl. Ingenious! Of course, most of us aren't that well-endowed so that takes away from the realism a bit,
but hey, this is all about fantasy, right? I once saw a scene in a porno of this nature. I can't remember the name of the movie, but it was shot such that it looked like you
were fucking the girl. She was sucking YOUR cock, it was your wad that was blowing all over her face and tits. It was fantastic. Well, Digital Playground have taken this idea
to its extreme with the Virtual Sex series. As the name would imply, each edition is shot from the first person where the porn star of your dreams (in my case, it was
Tera Patrick) is giving you the fuck of your life, but the catch here is that YOU are calling the shots. First off, you can decide if she talks dirty or innocent. I am a big fan of
the dirty talk myself, and it gets pretty nasty. Obscenities galore fly out of these women's mouths and it is a sight to behold (and hear!).

As far as the actual activities go, the logical start is to have the girl strip for you while she describes the myriad of things she wants you to do to your body. Then you can
move on to either a short story segment, which is good to get the fantasy rolling and usually includes the lady's most exciting sexual experience and/or the first time she
had sex. Then it is on to the foreplay, which consists of fucking her with your fingers, a dildo, or cunnilingus (your choice). You can also make her orgasm on your
command. Of course, if you are a typical man you can go straight to the sex section, including blowjobs and intercourse in 4 different positions (missionary, doggy,
cowgirl and a reverse cowgirl), and each sexual act can be viewed from two different angles - one in the first person from an aerial view or the other from the side or a
close-up insertion shot depending on the position. Each position lasts for about 2 and a half to three minutes before looping back to the beginning. The oral sex
cumshots are especially nice. She pulls it out and just jerks the cock off right on her face. In the case of the Tera and Taylor Hayes DVDs you are rewarded with a "Good boy," which is VERY hot.

The action is pretty standard from one DVD to the next, and as someone new to the series and the girls, you really can't go wrong with any of them. If you are new to the
girls, my recommendation would be to get some of their actual movies first, see which you develop and affinity for, then pick up the Virtual Sex DVD as if you have a thing for
the girl as I do for Tera Patrick, then the experience is even greater. I hadn't seen Taylor work before and my experience with Devon is minimal. Both are gorgeous. I
prefer Devon as she has a very innocent look about her so when she gets nasty it is all the more effective, and she is decked out in some see-through linngere and
thigh-high white stockings which is an extra turn on. Taylor Hayes is obviously gorgeous, but is more of a prototypical porn bombshell. Tera Partick, for those of
you who have been living under a rock, is one of the most beautiful women to ever grace the porn screen.

All is not flowers and honey, though folks. I have a few gripes with the Virtual Sex interface and features.
1: the cunnilingus sections - with the Asia CDROM, it was shot from an angle where her vagina was not in plain view, which made sense as unless you had an eyes growing out of your tonsils (and if you were eating out
Asia Carrera, you just might wish you did) you wouldn't be able to see her whole "most private of areas" while you were performing the act. In these editions, however
(at least the Devon and Taylor ones), the vag is in plain view the whole time. Not that it is not a glorious sight, but it takes away from the realism of it all.

B: fake cumshots. The guy obviously has some kind of pump or packet to shoot the load in most of the sex shots. For the oral scene it is real (which is perhaps why it
is normally the best one). It would have been good to have used a stunt cock or to have done the shoot in a few sessions for the added realism. I know that isn't
exactly conducive to a porn budget, but hell with it! I do have to say that even though it is lame, the packets are much better than the computer generated wads blown in the Asia CDROM. That was just terrible.
Third: The second angles, the insertion shots, are lame. Most of the alternate shots in these three editions are just dick-puss-dick-pussy (with the exception of doggy). Who
actually gets excited about a shot of just a dick going into a pussy?? I mean, that could be any dick going into ANY pussy. If you don't see the body or face attached, what
does it matter? What is the turn-on there?? It could be your mom's pussy for all you know. Here you are, pulling your pud watching Devon get fucked, then you switch the
angles and you are wanking it to your mom's pussy getting pounded without even knowing it. That's nasty. I can't stand it in regular pornos when they show extended
insertion shots. Also, it isn't realistic. Unless you are Plastic Man, you can't stretch your neck out and crane it over to get a look at your own shaft going into the holiest of
holies. That's just my personal gripe. If anyone out there is into insertion shots, please email me and explain why, and it better be good.
IV: Rather than actual complaints, we have additional features and/or options I'd like to see. First up is titty fucking. Most of the girls bring it up during the teasing.
"Would you like to fuck these big tits of mine??" Well, yes! I would! Why not add it? While on the subject of things to add in, let's make anal an option as well! Another thing
the girls bring up is face fucking, and it never happens. Personally, to me, fucking involves a thrusting motion and in the oral scenes the girl does all the work. In this time of
equal rights and all that bullshit, that just isn't fair. The guy should fuck her face just so she isn't putting in all the effort. Actually pumping the mouth is a huge turn-on and I
would like to see it actually happen during the oral sequence.

Well, that bitching and moaning out of the way, I want to state again that despite my nagging, the Virtual Sex series is spectacular. I am just being extra hard (no pun
intended) because the series is so high quality and has the potential to be even better. Hopefully they'll get some of the classic stars, like Ginger Lynn, Jeanna Fine, Christy
Canyon (though last I heard she is out of the business again), Ashlyn Gere and others. If you are a fan of any of the girls already featured in this series (other editions
include Jenna Jameson, Jill Kelly, Nikki Tyler and more) get your hands on the DVD, get your hands on some lotion and tissues and get your hand on your funstick because
you are in for a hell of a ride. Just be careful not to get load all over the DVD player remote control as it can get messy and cause some major damage. Orrr, so I hear...
