From time to time the porn world is blessed with an actress that really is just a gift to mankind. Women, too, for that matter. Ms. Jacklyn Lick us such a blessing. Gorgeous, intelligent, and bursting with sexual prowess and on-camera enthusiasm, you are going to be hard pressed to find a woman more deserving of the term "goddess."Al and Piston were lucky enough to spend an hour or so chatting with Ms. Lick. Read on to find out what transpired...
Piston: I'm here. Hello.
Jacklyn: Hi.
Al: Jacklyn, this is my partner Piston... he is going to interject from time to time.
J: No problem!
A: Do you have a time limit?
P: Yeah, as soon as I get bored. Just kidding!
J: Good answer, Piston! Ummm.... you know, it should be somewhat reasonable. I do have things to do...
A: well, let me know when we get down to the wire... say 10 minutes left, okay?
J: YES! Absolutely!
P: Let's get started then. How and when did you first get involved in the porn business?
J: I started doing adult films about 2 and 1/2 years ago. I was feature dancing before that, and had considered it, but, was always tied down to a guy. When I split up with the boyfriend I had been with for one and a half, I started seeking 'ins' to the industry. I found Sunset Thomas and her husband Zach to be a great help.
A: Did you split with the boyfriend to get involved in porn or were the two not related?
J: The two weren't related. But, I think if I had stayed in a relationship, or jumped into another one, I never would have gotten into the industry.
A: Were you a fan of porn at all before getting involved?
J: Not really. I had never really watched it. I didn't really know who was who in porn, although I do now. But, I remember this one time, I had sex with a guy inside a porn store. We rented a movie, and he watched it while we had sex. I kind of watched that, but it was a bondage film.
A: You watched it in the porn store? It was in a booth, I assume?
J: Yes.
A: What first put the idea of going into porn in your head? Other dancers?
J: Other feature dancers that were porn stars that I would follow on the road. Also, I wanted to get out of Oregon. I was sick of it. I had been there for a long time. And, I didn't want to dance in LA.
A: Do you still dance at all?
J: Once in a great while. I feature. I do bachelor parties here and there.
A: Is there better money in porn?
J: Mmmmmm... I think so. We aren't rich like some people seem to think, but it is a decent living.
A: Some girls say they are in porn for the money, some, and this is a direct quote, "for the dick." How about you?
J: Hehehe... I'm in it for the sex.
P: Yeah, but you can get sex outside of the industry too.
J: Not if you're me. I can't seem to. Hehe.
A: Suuuure you can't...
P: I don't believe that.
A: I think she's lying to us, Piston.
J: Seriously, I am very shy when it comes to meeting people one on one. I've been used to stages from a very young age. I don't really do well with the relationship thing, and they are few and far between.
P: I hear ya. Same here.
J: I don't really approach guys I see on the street. I wouldn't even know how to begin. Even if I think they are drop dead gorgeous, then that is 10 times more intimidating for me.
A: I have a surefire idea that would work for you.
J: What's that?
A: Look them in the eyes and smile, and then say "hi!" If they are straight, it will work!!
J: Then I fumble, drop my bag, act like a complete geek, and then say, by the way, I fuck men for a living, and women as a matter of fact. Are you cool with that? Hehe.
P: I think most guys would be cool with it.
A: Well, they say you shouldn't air out all your dirty laundry from the get go...
J: I have plenty to air.
A: Take your time with it!
J: Hehe. I tried that, he turned out to be a born again Christian!
A: Uh oh. My big red siren goes off around those people.
J: Yeah, I'm not sure who ran faster, me or him.
A: You said you've been "used to stages from a very young age." Doing what? Always an aspiring actress?
J: I was a dance teacher from the age of 13. At 15 I was teaching jazz, tap, and ballet. I was a choreographer for shows, and at 17, I was stripping for the money.
Sometimes a woman is like the sun coming up...A: Stripping at 17? Have a good fake ID, did you?
J: Oops, I mean 18, or course. Ahem! I continued for a long time teaching. Now, I'm back to taking classes again. I kick box.
A: How long have you been into kick boxing for?
J: Ever since I moved to LA. 2 and 1/2 years.
A: Better than buying a gun?
J: Hehe. Not really for self defense. More for exercise.
J: If I was going to use martial arts for self defense, I would try Ju Jitz Zu. Where are you from, Piston?
P: NY. But I will be moving to LA in a month or so. [Editor's note: Piston decided that CA wasn't his bag, and opted for the sunny shores of NYC instead.]
J: Really? What will you be doing here?
P: Lysa Stone is helping me get established with a job. You know her?
A: He has job interviews with Astral Ocean and Notorious.
J: Sounds familiar.
A: Lysa used to be with Sin City, now she is with Astral.
J: I know the people at Notorious. That will be fun for you.
P: She is really nice. Helps us out all the time. Good friend.
J: That's where I know her name from, Sin City.
A: It was a movie they sent us that first got us into your work and inspired me to contact you about an interview...
J: Sin City? Which movie?
A: "Made In America."
J: Oh, yes. I haven't seen that yet.
A: Well, you are GREAT in it!!
J: Hehe. That was a fun one if I recall. Thomas Payne directed it, I think.
P: I liked you better in OGV's A Woman's Needs. That one is good.
A: Did a threesome. That is the only scene in the movie I went back to...
J: That was a great scene. With Randee and Alec, right?
A: Right!!
A: When the two of you were back to back, you on top of her... that was something I hadn't seen since the old days!!
J: That was hilarious! We had so much fun doing that.
A: You have so much enthusiasm on camera. That is what I really like about your performances.
J: I absolutely love doing movies. I haven't watched that scene, so, I'm not sure how they edited the ending of it... but, on one of the cuts, I turn to Randee with the cum dripping down my chin, and say my lines, and she takes a deep breath and starts cracking up.
A: I have also seen Crazed and Heart and Soul, solely for your performance.
J: Heart and Soul is one of my favorites!!!!
A: I thought it was a disappointment because they had you in a mask.
J: I know, that sucked, but, I still loved that scene!
A: The sex was great, but I didn't like the fact that I couldn't see faces.
J: Peter and I were making out for 45 minutes before they started rolling camera. And Ruby is awesome in that scene.
A: Ruby's great! We interviewed her for our last issue. She and Chloe.
J: I love Ruby. She is one of my favorites! Oh, Chloe too, one of the good ones! Both of them are very well respected by me!
A: A lot of people were surprised that Chloe took best actress over Jill Kelly.
J: Not me! Chloe well deserves it!
A: I think she deserved it 100% also.
P: Yeah I'm so glad Chloe has cleaned herself up. She got off drugs, alcohol, and even quit smoking. I like Chloe a lot. She has put in a lot of work, I was thrilled to hear she won.
A: She traded them all in for a fisting habit... heh heh.
J: Hahahahaha! I fisted Ruby at a party once.
A: Are you into fisting at all? As far as receiving?
J: I haven't tried it yet. I just don't feel like that would be possible.
A: Chloe got into it because of her "accident," and then she got Ruby into it. Better not hang out with them too much, they will suck you in!
J: Hehehe, I have small hands, so, I can do the fisting!
A: Sorry for the intermittent pauses in questions. We have to gather our thoughts and questions...
J: No problem. Iım eating dinner in between.
P: What are you eating?
J: Basics... tuna steak, rice, and salad.
P: You made it?
J: Yes, before I sat down.
A: If you tell me you can cook too, I am going to cry.
J: I love food. But, I'm a major health nut. No chicken, no milk, no sugar.
P: WAIT A SECOND!!! No Sugar?? What about Ice Cream, we all need Ice Cream!!!!
J: No, very rarely, I will eat frozen yogurt. I like popsicles.
A: Piston is an ice cream addict.
P: Sorry I just lost my head. Sugar is my second favorite thing, after air.
J: And, if there is Ben and Jerry's around, I'm known to cheat a little.
A: B&J's is hard to resist...
P: How about a big juicy steak?
J: Nope. Big juicy halibut steak... I only eat seafood for meat.
P: Oh well, we can't all be perfect... heh heh.
A: I heard you are very into herb-diet therapy/alternative medicine.
J: Yes, very true. I was an herbalist for awhile. I have studied every kind of nutrition stuff available. I've been this way since I was 20 years old, though. I learned from some of the best hippies.
"Insert caption here." Well, this one speaks for itself, eh??A: We're going to wind up talking about food the whole time...
J: I love sushi, and exotic restaurants, though.
A: Same here!! Spicy tuna roll!!
P: I need my food cooked.
A: There was a Pakistani restaurant in the neighborhood here. It didn't last long... every time I in there the place was EMPTY.
J: I make them cook my sushi, but, I love all the flavors, spicy food rocks.
P: That I agree with.
A: So who were the hippies? Parents? Friends?
J: Friends. My best friend, who, I lived with since I was around 18 off and on. She is out traveling the world right now. And, our apartment manager. She ended up being one of my dearest friends.
A: Are you in touch with your parents at all?
J: Yes. Every week.
A: How do they feel about your chosen profession?
J: They don't really talk about it. We have different belief systems, they are strict Catholic. I love them very much. I respect their beliefs, it's just that, mine are different.
A: At what age did you wake up?
J: I started reading Shirley Maclaine books when I was 14.
A: Do you consider yourself to be part of any one faith?
J: No.
A: "Undetermined?"
J: I believe in all of them. They all have good concepts. I just feel that they stray at one point or another. I lean more towards Eastern religions. And, I don't believe in the devil AT ALL. That has to be some made up control bullshit.
A: Similarly, though... couldn't the concept of a god be considered as much of a control tool?
J: Yes, absolutely, Al.
P: I think Judaism is the worst. It is full of completely unnecessary shit. Like no pork, no milk and meat, and circumcisions. I miss my foreskin.
J: Hehehe. I'm sorry! There is an organization that helps you grow it back...
P: It's not the same.
J: Really? I hear some men are in therapy to get in touch with that missing part of themselves.
P: They say you lose 70% of the feeling. It started because they wanted to stop boys from masturbating. Didn't work, but it was a nice try! Are family reunions weird at all for you?
J: No. I'm a pretty normal person. It's not like I show up in a mini skirt and pumps.
P: You aren't treated differently because you do porn?
J: No. It's all about love.
A: Must be a strong family!!
J: Very.
A: We get a lot of flak because of the site we run alone.
Can you say "DAMMMMMNNNN," boys and girls??J: Well, I did too for a long time. But, it's all about learning and growing. The one thing I've learned is that you can't change anyone around you, you only have the power to change the way you perceive things.
P: That's good. That's what the site is about, showing the truth behind the stereotypes of porn.
A: W try to show that there are people behind all of the personas.
J: That's good.
P: And to show that you are all evil, sex freaks.
J: Hehehe. I think there is nothing wrong with exploring your sexuality any way you see comfortable.
P: We only get one life, it would suck dying and wondering "what if?"
A: Many porn outsiders assume that the business is one big drug-infested party.
J: There is that side of it too, but there is that side to ANY profession. There are a lot of us that don't do drugs. I don't even drink alcohol, it makes me feel funny.
A: That's the whole idea...
J: I don't like it.
P: Do you smoke cigarettes?
J: No. Yuck!
A: We saw a lot of the party scene at the ECVS this year, but I don't think we saw ANY drug use whatsoever. It was our first foray into the real "inside" and it was very nice to see! Well, to "not see" to be specific...
J: Most people are really nice.
P: Actually at the Anna Malle party there were Twinkies on the table. That shocked me. I expected lines of coke, but instead there were Twinkies.
J: Hehe, usually there is at least a vegetable tray.
P: Like I said before I look for sugar first, so there might have been...
A: Anyway, to the questions... was your first real sexual experience with a woman on screen?
J: Yes, it was. With Sunset Thomas, and then, Felecia, all in one day. It was my first movie.
A: Had you been curious about it before? Before being offered the role, that is...
J: Yes, a little. I had never met the right girls, I think.
A: Are you straight in your off-screen life?
J: Not exactly. (smiles)
A: What is your ratio, men to women, off camera?
J: Mostly men! I could give up women if I had to, but I couldn't give up men.
A: I've heard that men give better head to other men than most women do, because they know what feels good because, obviously, they have dicks.
J: Hehehe, why don't you try it?
A: My girlfriend would be very, very angry with me!
P: Which one?
A: Har har. Is that at all true with women?
J: I don't know, I have had some amazing oral sex with men before. I think it depends on the person.
P: Let's get back to Sunset Thomas. I am a big fan of hers. How did you meet her?
J: I went to watch her feature when she was in Oregon. I told her I thought I might like to do movies, and she introduced me to her husband.
A: She's the one you followed?
J: I didn't follow her. I went to see her when I wasn't on the road.
A: Ohhhh... I thought you had said you followed some girls that featured.
J: I did. I came into clubs after some of them, and saw the response they had compared to little old me, a magazine model. Hehe.
A: Checking out the competition... smart!
J: Not really about competition. It's more about, how can I be better?
A: You have a camera in your bedroom on your site, jacklynlick.com, correct? Hast changed your behavior at all? Do you ever wish that it wasn't there? J: It's not up yet, I am in the process of putting it up. I've put a lot of thought into it, and I think I will act pretty normal. I don't think it's going to bother me. I figure if people have seen me at my most intimate moments, this can't be much different.
A: I understand you are in an upcoming mainstream move with Nicholas Cage called 8 mm. How was that experience for you?
J: First of all, I did mainstream acting before I ever did porn. I have a huge resume, this is the first mainstream movie I had done under my porn name. I just saw it yesterday, and they didn't cut my part! I'm actually in it! I had a great time working that day. I worked with the stunt coordinator and the director, Joel. They were very accomodating.
A: How long did the shoot take?
J: Maybe 4 hours + lunch...
A: Was anyone on set a fan of your XXX career?
J: I'm not sure if anyone was a fan or not on set. If they were, they didn't come forward, but everyone was very easy to work with, and made me feel very comfortable.
A: Did you work with Nicholas Cage at all?
J: I didn't even meet Nicolas Cage, my scene was with the killer in the movie. But, in the movie, Nicolas is in the scene that I am in. Can't tell you, or it would give it away.
A: Do you plan on moving over to "straight" acting as opposed to porn?
J: It's not really a matter of choosing one or the other. I like them both for different reasons.
A: How did it pay in comparison to a XXX movie?
J: It pays around the same, unless of course, I was to get a really huge role in mainstream, then, of course, it would pay a heck of alot more.
A: I understand you stopped doing adult films when you were diagnosed Hepatitic C positive, even though no one told you that you couldn't work. Is that true?
J: Yes, I did stop doing adult films at first.
A: How much did you know about the disease when you first found out you had it?
J: I didn't know anything about it when I first found out. Since then, I continue to get the liver enzyme test, and everything has been normal, which, I guess means I can work, but, I haven't chosen to yet, other than a girl/girl scene I did with my really good friend. At the end of March, I go get the big test to find out if I still have it at all.
It amazes me that guys actually like SPORTS when there are women like this out there...A: How has it changed your everyday life?
J: It really hasn't changed my life all that much. I've always been into eating healthy and excercising. At first, I couldn't exercize, but, that didn't last for long. I'm back to kick boxing and everything I used to do. I just haven't made the leap back to films yet, but I want to really badly. I just wish they had higher testing standards, but, I don't see that happening. In the mean time, I make alot of fetish and bondage films.
A: Can you trace your infection back to working in the adult industry?
J: The only way to trace the infection is to have a liver biopsy done, which, I chose not to do. I figured I needed every bit of liver I had, and no one was going to take a piece of it from me just to find out where I got it. Plus, I wanted to gear my energy towards healing, and not prosecuting and being angry about it. I just wanted to take care of it. I really can't be angry at anyone. It was me alone that decided to get into the adult industry, and even in the light of things, I do not regret that decision.
A: Have you tried alternative medicine/herbalism with any success?
J: Yes, it has been extremely successful. They say 30% of the people that take Chemotherapy for Hep C get rid of it entirely. I have complete confidence in herbal medicine. I wonder what the statistics on that are? Anyways, it's been so successful, that I've spoken publicly several times about some of the products I'm on. One is called MGN3, it is made from an herbal doctor out of Japan. It raises the natural interferon in your body. Interferon is the chemo drug the doctors reccomend. Except with MGN3 you don't spend most of your time throwing up and losing your hair. There are no side effects, I'm as healthy as can be, and I'm done with taking the pills at the end of March. Aside from that, I see an acupuncturist about once every couple weeks. I used to see an acupuncturist about once a month just for relaxation, so, this isn't much different. I'm very lucky I lead a healthy lifestyle, because buckling down for a couple months and being extra healthy was real easy for me. Alot of people would just go ahead and do the chemotherapy, so, in a way, I'm glad it was me. At least it was someone that already had the proper resources.
A: What kind of music do you listen to?
J: I love Led Zepplin, the Beatles, Alanis Morrisette...
A: All-time favorite album?
J: It's hard to pick an all time favorite. I love music!
A: How do you feel about feminist attacks on pornography?
J: I don't feel porn is demeaning towards women. I think it makes them look beautiful with the proper camera man of course, hehe. Every thing is a matter of perspective. It's all relative. One manıs junk is another's treasure sort of thing.
A: Do you feel at all betrayed by the women that attack you profession?
J: I haven't really been attacked by the feminists, so, I haven't really thought about it. I'm more attacked by religious right's groups. They scare me even more, kill you in the name of the lord, eeek!.
A: There are individuals that are happy in pornography as a lifestyle, and, obviously, others that are not happy and porn for them is just a means to pay the bills and a step to what is hopefully a "better life." Do you fall into one of these two categories?
J: Well, pornography isn't really my 'lifestyle', it's just a part of my life that I enjoy to the fullest. It's all about balance. So, I don't feel I fall into either category.
A: What is the primary distinction between on and off-camera sex in your life?
J: There isn't much difference. If it is really good, I get lost completely to everything around me. Wouldn't matter if a herd of elephants came bouncing through the room. If it isn't that intense, I get sidetracked, and start thinking about household finances, whether or not I took the garbage out, changes I should be making on my website...etc. I like on camera sex, because the guys really have to make it good! Hehe!
A: I've heard it said that the pleasure some women derive from having sex on camera is primarily exhibitionistic and therefore different from the pleasure they get from having sex in their private lives. Is this your experience as well?
J: No, I wouldn't say so. It isn't the thrill of having people watch, because, actually, I'm quite shy. But, what makes me comfortable on the set, is that the people are like family. You see the same crew, camera men, performers, directors, etc, all the time. They are busier looking at their watches than at you. Though, when they do notice you, you KNOW you did REALLY good!
A: In your experience, are most female on-camera orgasms faked?
J: Not that I can tell. Mine aren't faked.
P: Have you ever done a scene with someone you think is not attractive at all? Perhaps a Ron Jeremy or a Jamie Gillis type?
J: I've done a scene with Ron Jeremy. And believe it or not, the reason I did was because I do find Ron attractive. When I first got in the industry, I said, no way. But, after meeting Ron, and hanging out with him, he is such a great guy. I'm attracted to Ron's personality. He's a good friend.
A: A fan from the RAME newsgroup wanted us to ask what fetish vids do you have coming out soon.
J: I have tons of fetish vids coming out... ummmm, Double Cross by London, and there is a really good one with Sharon Kane and I that Bon Vue made. I'm not sure of the name, but, I almost went home with Sharon afterwards, it got so hot. Unfortunately, I was running late, so Sharon and I picked it up later (smiles). But, I have also written a couple that I will be working on this year.
A: What is the pay is like for fetish vids vs. non-fetish vids?
J: Actually, the pay is around the same.
A: Were you a fetishist at all before getting involved in fetish movies or did your interest develop when you started getting paid for it?
J: No, I've always been into getting tied up. (smiles) I've always been submissive. But, I had never been a dominant until I started getting paid. It is fun, I prefer submissive, but, I enjoy pleasing people, so when I know someone is really into being dominated, then, I really enjoy dominating.
P: What is the percentage of weight given to looks vs. personality for you in a guy?
J: Personality is 100% for me. Looks help... but, he has to have personality.
A: What are you more excited about? The new Austin Powers movie or the new Star Wars movie?
J: STAR WARS!! Doesn't that look totally cool? I can't wait!
