Q- Why did you initially disband Acheron?
VC- I just got sick and tired of the music business. I actually had no intention to play music anymore. All the bullshit with labels and the lack of support
for this type of music. I just needed to clear my head. Even the others in the back were not in the right frame of mind. It was just a good time to step back for awhile.
Q- In light of the reformation, has that feeling changed at all?
VC - The business part of music I will NEVER like, but this will no longer make me quit doing what I was meant to do. And that is create dark fucking music. ACHERON has never
been into this for the money, but we hope to someday get what we deserve.
Q- What did Wolfen Society enable you to express that Acheron did not?
VC- After awhile of doing nothing, I decided to do a studio project with some other sick fuckers I wanted to work with. Acheron expresses my occultic darkside, while Wolfen
Society is just misanthropic metal dealing with our hatred for this world and all the people populating it. Wolfen Society is just pure fucking hatred! And those who know me personally know how much I hate mankind.
Q- Musically, how different are the two projects?
VC- They both have their own sounds, but Acheron deals with the Satanic side and Wolfen Society is based around hatred.
Q- Why did you decide to resurrect Acheron?
VC- I was working on a weird electronic project called Crowley with a keyboardist named Aaron Werner. One day when we were writing music and aaron stared
playing some Acheron tunes. He was/is a big fan of the band. That got me wanting to do Acheron again. I asked him if he'd be into it and he was like "fuck yeah!" After that,
I put out the word that the band was reforming. About 2 weeks later I received an e-mail from lead guitarist Michael Estes. I ended up calling him and asked him if he'd like to
be a part of the reformation. He was really into doing it, so the band was re-invoked!
Q- Will Wolfen Society continue now that Acheron has returned?
VC- Indeed! Wolfen Society is a great project and I love working with the others in the band. I think we are all going to try and make our schedules work so that we can still do
Wolfen Society. We just recorded an MCD called "Conquer Divine" for House of Death records (USA)/No Fashion (Europe). Our next goal is to record a full length album called "Misanthropic Race".
Q- How active (if at all) are you currently in the Church of Satan?
VC- I resigned from the Church of Satan about a year ago. At this time I do not want to be a member of any organizations. There has been way to many soap operas
within the whole Satanic scene. I know what I am and I don't need to be a part of any organization. I am not anti-COS, I am just not interested in being a member anymore. My music will express my beliefs and ideas.
Q- What was the fate of the Black House? I had read there was a chance it, might be torn down, but have not heard anything since.
VC- I really have no idea what happened? But I think if it was torn down someone would have said something by now.
Q- Have you had any success in finding a drummer for
Acheron?
VC- Yes, we did. His name is Daniel Zink. He's a local drummer that is perfect for the role. He's good and he's great to work with. He has played in several bands, but
his most well known was PITBOSS 2000. Dan knows he has some serious shoes to to fill, but he's been stepping up to the plate.
Q- Any chance that The Apocalypse will see the light of day?
VC- Yes, but it won't be with Acheron. I re-vamped the album and will be using it for the first Wolfen Society album
("Misanthropic Race"). There are hints of my writing style, but it does not sound like Acheron in my opinion.
Q- Are any of the ideas for that album being used on Rebirth?
VC- No. The next Acheron album will be all new ideas. And for the first time we are going to write the album as a band. The three of us have lots of ideas, so i'm sure this
will be an interesting release. But I promise you that "rebirth" will be the darkest album Acheron has ever done!
Q- Will we hear anything on Rebirth that would seem out of place on previous Acheron releases?
VC- I hope so! "Rebirth" Will be an evolution from the "Those Who Have Risen" album. We are going to use my main Acheron type vocals along with opera/metal style
vocals by aaron werner for chorus parts and so forth. We also plan to maybe use a few dark samples here and there. But it will still be dark fucking metal!
Q- What three books have been most influential in your development
as an individual?
VC- "The Satanic bible" by Anton LaVey, "The Anti-Christ" by Friedrich Nietzsche and "Might Is Right" by Ragnar Redbeard.
Q-I've read that many think Ragnar Redbeard was actually Jack London. What is your opinion?
VC- You never know. I read some of the ideas lavey mentioned about Jack London being Redbeard and it does make you wonder. But who ever wrote Might is Right is a genius!
Q- With the explosion of black metal over the past few years, there has been a strong resurgence of "Satanism" in music. What acts currently active do you feel are still vital
to the scene?
VC- I can't really answer that question. If a band is true to their beliefs, i'm all for it. Someone like King Diamond is very vital to this scene, but so are many other artists. As
long as I know Acheron is being true to the scene, that is really all I care about.
Q- Are there any albums in your collection that an Acheron fan would be shocked to know you own?
VC- I'm sure there are many things. I love all kinds of metal, but I also enjoy other forms of music. I'm a big fan of southern rock and some older country bands/singers. I
guess it is my hidden redneck part of me. (ha, Ha) and I also like gothic and industrial music. So i'm sure I have something that would shock fans. (ha, Ha)
Q- There has been a lot of talk in underground music circles about the National Totalitarian Front. I could be wrong, but I remember reading somewhere that you were involved in
the group. Is that true? (if so) What is the primary aim of the organization?
VC- Sorry, I have never heard of this group, nor am I a member. As I mention above, I really don't want to be a member of anything, except my own inner circle.
Q - Any last words?
VC- Thanks for the support! I knew I couldn't stay away from music for a long time and I'm glad I'm back. Acheron and Wolfen Society will be unleashed on the masses very
soon. Check us out. Best of luck with your zine. Those who are interested can contact us at the address below.
